Wedding Review

February 17, 2008

We had such an amazing time on our wedding cruise! I’m not even sure where to begin to talk about it. It was really everything we wanted and more. The wedding itself went so smooth (aside from the rain). Considering there was no run-through and we only communicated with our planner via email, it turned out to be just what we had in mind. The location was gorgeous. It was full of beautiful tropical plant life and a waterfall (which not everyone had an opportunity to see). The gardens were the perfect location for our wedding. Prior to the ceremony, Matt and I went around Ocho Rios with our Gwyne and Mark (www.gwynemarkphotography.com) to get a few pictures. I can’t wait to see how those turned out. Stephanie also got some incredible pictures (www.blogspot.stephowens.com). She captured a lot of detail and unique moments that I don’t think anyone else caught. I posted her slideshow below. Not only did she take great photos, but she also was the hairstylist for myself, my mom, and Candi (my bridesmaid) and managed getting all of our guests and wedding stuff to and from the gardens. Plus she ran around to make sure everything was going according to plan. She’s just a lifesaver!

We also had a photographer through our wedding planner, but I am not able to post those pics yet. They are sending out another CD this week. They got some great shots as well, including most of the formal pictures and group shots.

We also had a mini reception in the gardens, but Matt and I missed most of that because of pictures. When we got back on the ship, we met up with everyone at dinner and had another reception on the ship with all of the traditional dances. It was a lot of fun. The DJ didn’t play the greatest music selection, but after a while people started requesting stuff and it got better. The open bar was a hit, though. LOL! Now we are back to “normal.” Back to work, cleaning the house on the weekends, cooking our own dinner, etc. No sitting on the pool deck having people bring us fruity drinks. :( We are already looking at ideas for cruises next year. We’re thinking… Cozumel!
