Henna Bellies!

April 30, 2009

Last night I was so excited to experience Lily getting her belly decorated with henna! Lily and I did her maternity photos a couple months ago and for this part of her pregnancy she wanted to do something different. I suggested the henna belly idea to her (thinking please, please, PLEASE do it! It would be so cool!!!) and she loved the idea! It was such a beautiful, magical experience watching her celebrate her pregnancy with the beautiful artwork of my new friend, the very talented Faythe Mesic! Faythe is also an expectant mother, and watching the two mommies-to-be have such a personal exchange and bonding over their pregnancies in itself was a beautiful thing!

I really wish I could be here this weekend to celebrate at Lily’s baby shower, but I’m so glad that she invited me over for her henna party! It really was an incredible thing to witness and so nice to spend some time with two very amazing women, Lily and Faythe! And I can’t forget daddy-to-be, Mike. It was nice seeing him, too! : )

If you are pregnant or know someone who is expecting, this is a wonderful way to artistically celebrate the beauty of pregnancy! Faythe also does belly casting, which is such a creative way to document pregnancy. You can find out more information on the Blessing Bellies website.

For Faythe’s make up artist services, visit www.faythemesic.com.

Now for photos!! I’m still so giddy over how cute Lily’s little belly is all decorated up! Congratulations, and we can’t wait to see little baby Zoey! : )

We have been so anxious about this wedding! Kirstin & Philip are such a wonderful couple. You might remember them from a few months ago when we visited them in NYC for their engagement session. We had so much fun walking all over the city with them, including a stop at Ray’s Pizza, and couldn’t wait for their big day to arrive!

Everything was so vibrant, setting the mood for a beautiful and sunny spring wedding. Kirstin had the most darling wedding dress with delicate, romantic floral appliques throughout. They also chose to go with a very fun and cutesy cupcake tower from Sheila’s Cakes & Specialty Treats instead of a traditional cake. Each cupcake had its own unique decoration, including sweet little “I Do” cupcakes. And on this beautiful Sunday afternoon, Kirstin walked down the aisle with her father to sweet sounds of a harp played by Sharon Stookey. If you are looking for a harpist to add an elegant touch to your ceremony, you can reach her at sharon.stookey@yahoo.com.

We’re so excited to be heading back up to NYC this weekend and will hopefully get to see the newlyweds after they get back from their honeymoon!

Congrats, Kirstin & Philip!

I got Trendy!

April 29, 2009

Over the weekend I received my custom camera straps in the mail from Trendy Camera Straps. Oh my God… I LOVE them! Thanks to the design work of my friend Jennifer Sicotte (who did the vector work for the GTP logo) and the layout and damask design work done by Jenny Jacobs at Trendy I now have a camera accessory that matches my branding AND is super cute! Not only are they gorgeous, but they are also the most comfortable camera strap I’ve used. I just LOVE them so much! Since I carry two cameras I bought both designs that Trendy created for me.

For any photographers out there, I just can’t recommend them more. They do amazing work and have excellent customer service. I can’t imagine any other strap being on my camera now!! You can visit them at www.trendycamerastraps.com and look at their beautiful designs or have a custom strap designed for you!

Here’s a look at my custom Gwendolyn Tundermann Photography straps:

What can you do to help?

I’m a firm believer that every little bit helps move us toward a solution. The Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Florida is always seeking donations. Here are some small ways that you can make a big impact in Florida:

Donate Food – Most people donate food around the holidays, but the fact is that people are hungry year round. The food bank accepts food donations Monday thru Friday from 8am-4pm. Food must be unopened and unexpired. The most requested items include meat, beans, rice, and peanut butter.

Donate Money – Did you know that for every dollar you donate to Second Harvest they can purchase $53 worth of food?! Think of how much of an impact a small monetary donation can make!

Donate Services – Do you have a special skill or service you can provide? Why not lend your professional skills to helping the organization with an in-kind donation?

Donate Time – Volunteers are needed daily to help with sorting food at the warehouse and throughout the year for special events. Call for more information: 904.353.3663 ext. 223

Also, be thankful for the food you have. Especially today with people losing their jobs and homes it’s so easy for us to take for granted the things we are blessed with. In solidarity, I will be fasting and praying for those who are hungry on this day and hope that the unity of bloggers everywhere will help raise awareness about hunger.

By reading this, you are part of the difference we are trying to make in the world! Share the inspiration with others! I heavily encourage you to join Bloggers Unite today and make a post about hunger on your blog. If you don’t have time to write a post or don’t have a blog, please feel free to share a link to this blog! : )

Ask Erin her first opinion of Aaron and her face just beams: “I just thought he was sooo hot!” Aaron was working on his friend’s car when they first met. He was underneath the car, but Erin says even his legs were sexy. Meow!

We met up with Erin & Aaron for their engagement session at the Ravines. They are adventurous, love to travel, and in between snapping photos we chatted with them about their relationship and learned so much about them. We definitely can’t wait until next fall for their wedding at Marineland Aquarium! Seriously, how many couples get to rent dolphins for their wedding?! It’s going to be amazing!

Here are some shots from their fun session:

Dinner Made EASY!

April 23, 2009

While Matt and I were shopping over the weekend, we stopped with curious eyes in front of a section of Indian meals… in a box! A little skeptical, we decided to pick up one of the boxes to try it out.

Tonight we tried it out and to our great surprise it was actually pretty decent! It wasn’t restaurant quality or anything, but it was really tasty! On the way home Matt stopped by the Indian grocery store to pick up some naan, samosas, and different sauces to go with dinner. I couldn’t even finish dinner. It was so filling! Matt complained quite a bit about not having any meat with dinner so next time I’ll probably add some chicken for him (or maybe tofu if I can trick him into eating it!).

If you’re interested in trying a quick and easy meal, you can find the meal kits at Target under the Archer Farms label. Less than 30 minutes total prep time… and there’s no real cooking involved other than making the rice! I want to say the boxes were only like $3.99 or something ridiculously cheap like that. Can’t wait to go back and try some of the other ones!

Yesterday, we met up with Rachel for her Senior Photo Session. After meeting with her last week, we discovered that we had very similar tastes! Her style is more classic – the kind of elegance that never goes out of style!

Rachel is such a beautiful young lady with a gorgeous smile. We wish her all the luck and success in her future endeavors! Congrats Rachel! : )

Have a great weekend!

April 17, 2009

This is our last weekend “off” until July, so we are heading out of town for some fun and relaxation. Just wanted to wish everyone a beautiful, safe, happy, and fun weekend!

I couldn’t post a blog without a photo, so Peanut agreed to model for me. If this adorable face doesn’t make you smile, I’m not sure what will! : )

When I received a call from Vanessa about her wedding, I was so excited! She had such a bubbly personality and we just clicked right away. I was so disappointed to find out that we were already booked on her wedding date but I suggested doing an engagement session and she LOVED the idea! Her personality was so amazing and addictive that I just couldn’t say sorry we aren’t available and hang up. It’s so easy to see how Miquel fell in love with Vanessa. It’s hard for me to believe that anyone could meet her and NOT fall in love with her!

We met up with Vanessa & Miquel at the beach on Easter morning. The sun was shining brightly against the blue sky, and we had a few clouds to provide some occasional relief. From the beginning, these two lovebirds made it so easy to capture them just being who they are… cute and so in love with one another! In fact, I would start to tell them what I had in mind and before I could finish the sentence they would have that expression or that pose so naturally.

We couldn’t have thought of a better way to spend Easter than with these two amazing people! Even late last night Matt & I were saying “We really need to hang out with them again!” Matt & Miquel can play video games while Vanessa & I play with our matching pomeranians! : ) They are just such a beautiful couple and so much fun to be around. We feel so blessed to have met them and are so heartbroken that we won’t be at their wedding. I know it will be a beautiful day full of love and, as they both pointed out, A LOT of dancing!

Vanessa & Miquel, we wish you both a lot of happiness in your life together! We look forward to seeing you both again very soon!

Centerpieces of fresh grapes, corks, and candles. A wedding arch by the lake decorated with winding grape vines. A bartender corking bottles of red. Were we in Florida or at a vineyard?

Jennifer & TJ’s wedding made me nostalgic for the vineyards Matt & I love to visit in Temecula. Everything was so beautifully decorated that I kept commenting that I didn’t even feel like I was in Florida. The ambience, the decor, and the music all set the mood for love!

Here is a peak at their special day. You can also see their engagement photos that we shot in January. Matt and Annabelle helped me shoot the wedding and I am so appreciative of their support and creativity!

Congratulations Jenn & TJ! We wish you many more years of happiness to come!
