We are soooo excited to share this blog post about Whitney & Aaron’s wedding at Kingsland First Baptist Church. It was such an emotional day full of complete joy and love. There were many happy tears and smiles even before the ceremony began. Whitney & Aaron had a sweet first look, which I posted last night.

The ceremony took place in the church’s new sanctuary, decorated with twinkling lights. One of my favorite moments was when Whitney took Aaron’s hands and gave them a little kiss while everyone was praying. Matt’s favorite part was shortly after when their parents prayed over them. The whole ceremony was so beautiful and touching. After they were announced husband and wife, Whitney gave a little fist pump while they walked down the aisle. It was too cute!

The reception was full of fun times, but some very heartfelt moments as well. The speeches ensured that there wasn’t a dry eye in the place, giving testimony to the character of these two amazing people and how much they are loved by family and friends. They truly are blessed!

I’ll end with a message from Matt:

Whitney and Aaron, I can honestly say that the two of you are one of the sweetest, kindest couples I’ve ever met. You hold such joy and love in your hearts and I know those qualities will help you persevere as you start your new journey. Best wishes!

After the reception we headed to the waterfront in downtown St Marys, GA for a few more romantic evening shots. It was chilly, Whitney put on Aaron’s jacket and snuggled up to him. We enjoyed these final sweet moments to reflect on an incredibly special day!

I don’t usually do this, but I wanted to do a blog post of Whitney & Aaron’s first look. Because really, I just want to post ALL of their photos! I’m having the hardest time choosing photos to blog from their wedding in Kingsland, GA (that is, a hard time to narrowing it down to under 500 photos). With 11 must-have pics from their first look alone I thought it deserved its own post!

I really love Whitney’s expression when she first saw Aaron. There were a lot of tear-jerker moments on this day, and this was certainly one of them. Things lightened up when Whitney & Aaron looked across the street to catch the bridesmaids and Whitney’s mom watching the whole thing unfold! They really wanted to witness this special moment. It was so cute!

Really, I’m not trying to be a big tease by posting sneaks on Facebook and doing this mini post. I promise I have oodles of laughter and crying and lots of pretties coming very soon, and it’s a blog post you won’t want to miss! Make sure you bring some tissue! : )

We have oodles of wedding goodness to share with you from Jamie & Matthew’s wedding at Crosswater Hall in Nocatee! There were so many personal and unique elements that made this day extra special for these two! They started the day with a first look, but it was a way we’ve never done before. Using the mirror in the bride’s room, Matthew was able to see Jamie’s face and the awesome detail in the back of her gown! Such a cool idea for a first look!

For the ceremony, Jamie & Matthew utilized the dual staircases and processed down each side and met in the middle. It was like Beauty and the Beast (except that they are both gorgeous). The ceremony began with the officiant ringing a crystal bell, which was the first time we had seen something like that at a wedding. But my favorite part was the hand fasting. They had different couples come forward and place a colored ribbon over their hands, each ribbon with a different meaning. At the end their hands were tied with the ribbons. It was such a beautiful touch!

The reception was nothing short of awesome! Everyone was cutting up on the dance floor and having a good time! Such a great crowd! It’s obvious that Jamie & Matthew have so much fun together, and we hope that they always laugh together the way that they did on their wedding day! Congratulations!

I didn’t think it was possible to adore Whitney & Aaron more than we already do, but after their wedding at the Kingsland First Baptist Church they have a special place in our hearts! I’m pretty sure I set a new record for times I’ve cried at a wedding last Saturday. I’d be surprised if anyone made it through their wedding day without crying at least once! It was a beautiful day filled with so much love! We’ll be sharing more from their special day after they return from their honeymoon, but here are a couple sneak peeks until then!

After the reception ended we headed to downtown St. Marys for a couple photos down by the water. Whitney looks so cute wrapped up in Aaron’s jacket (and his arms)! : )

We just returned from the east coast after shooting two very beautiful and fun weddings! First was Jamie & Matthew’s wedding at Nocatee’s Crosswater Hall! I’m so excited to share their unique wedding ceremony and gorgeous details, but first here’s one of my favorite shots and one that I think really captures Jamie & Matthew’s fun and outgoing personalities! : )

It was a chilly Saturday morning, and Soc, Peanut and Taz were all snuggled in the bed. I hugged the covers and nuzzled in to Soc’s fuzzy face, treasuring the 9 minutes granted by my snooze button. It was still dark when I finally got out of bed, and though my sleepy eyes protested my mind was so excited for what the morning had in store. Shivering in the car and waiting for the heat to kick in, we stopped at Starbucks for our first peppermint mochas of the season. Cruising up the 15 we made our way toward downtown Riverside, and when Bone Thugs-N-Harmony came on the radio I added one more thing to the “Why We Love California” list.

Also on that list are the two families we met up with in Riveride. We shot Maricel & EJ’s wedding at St. Paul the Apostle Church in Chino Hills back in 2010, and since then their family has grown with the arrival of their first child. That was also when we met Mars’ sister Lenny and her family, which has also grown +1 since then! How amazing that these sisters have little ones that will grow up together!

Even though it was chilly and kinda early, the kids were such troopers about giving us their cutest smiles (parents, too!). We had so much fun, and it was so great to see everyone again for the first time since we moved here! We’re excited to be seeing more of you all now that we live on the west coast! : )

It has been so hard to select photos from Jordan & Kacee’s wedding at Deercreek Country Club because we loved them ALL! It was such a fun day and we adore this couple (and their awesome wedding party and family) so much that we enjoyed every minute of the wedding day! So I hope it’s okay that we posted more photos than usual for this sweet couple!

Jordan & Kacee chose red and black for their wedding colors, which I think fits them perfectly – dark and passionate. Everything came together so perfectly! The bridesmaids had the most adorable and sassy dresses (and they each picked out cute shoes to match). Kacee and the groomsmen all looked so smooth in their tuxes, but added a bit of fun with all black Chuck Taylors. And Jordan looked stunning in a ruffled romantic gown with red earrings and a flower adding a touch of pizazz to her look!

After a short but sweet ceremony, the party commenced with DJ Skip Kelly playing one fun song after another. They even broke it down Gangnam Style. I will never be able to hear that song and not think of their day, and that’s a good thing! Fun times for sure!

We are so honored to have been part of Jordan & Kacee’s wedding day, and it was a privilege to also work with an incredible team of vendors to make this day complete. It just turned out to be one of those perfect wedding days, and this is just a sample of the awesomeness! Tons more pics coming soon in their gallery!

GTP’s San Diego Office

November 1, 2012

One of the hardest things about moving to California was giving up my sweet studio in Jacksonville. I absolutely loved that space because it had so much character. I worried that I wouldn’t be able to find anything like it when I moved to San Diego.

When I began my search for a space in San Diego I was disappointed to find the same old executive office type spaces. There were a few artist co-ops that had some promise, but still wasn’t quite what I had in mind. Then I happened to come across an ad from a San Diego bridal gown designer who was looking for an office mate to share her studio! It was a cute space with a white picket fence, a wrap-around porch, and hardwood floors. It’s part of the oldest house in Point Loma, and it had so much charm and character that I was ready to sign the lease sight unseen. I knew it was what I was looking for!

Point Loma is such a beautiful area! There are marinas and fishing businesses (I finally got to check out the amazing fish market the other day). And we are SUPER excited to be sharing a space with Danielle of D’marie Bridal Couture! She’s such a talented designer! I saw some of her sketches the other day and I was just so impressed with how she can take an idea and translate it into a beautiful custom-designed gown! Amazing! I highly recommend her to anyone looking to have a gown designed (and yes, she does work with out of state brides!).
