Mother Daughter Minis

Spring is in the air, and nature provided a beautiful backdrop for Jennifer & Kevin’s San Diego engagement photos! We started off at the Japanese Friendship Garden at Balboa Park, which has its stunning cherry blossoms in bloom right now! Such a beautiful location, and they are continuing to expand this gorgeous garden! It was a lovely place to take a stroll and follow Jennifer and Kevin as they giggled and cuddled up together!

Before leaving Balboa, we paused for some fun at the historic carousel! Call me old fashioned, but I think carousels are completely romantic!

We wrapped up their engagement photos at Heritage Park in Old Town San Diego. This was Jennifer & Kevin’s original location for their wedding, but they decided to move to another venue in Old Town. They still love this spot (and for good reason) so I’m glad we got to shoot some photos of them there. Isn’t it absolutely charming?! It’s such a pretty spot and we had beautiful light. This set has some of my favorites from the whole day!

Last week we show you a sneak peek from Kaitlin & Alfredo’s San Diego engagement photos, and this week we are so excited to share more from their sweet session! We started off our early morning at Mission Beach with our toes in the sand. At that early hour, it was really just us and the surfers! We continued across the street to Mission Bay Park where Kaitlin & Alfredo snuggled among the seagulls gathered to enjoy the sunshine. After the beach, we headed over to Coffee Couture, one of their favorite spots to spend time with each other over delicious coffee and pastries! This place is such a gem, and everyone was so nice making new drinks so that these lovebirds always had the freshest brew in their hands! I had an iced mocha latte with coconut syrup that was heaven in every sip! We had so much fun spending the morning with these two and can’t wait for their wedding later this spring! Here are some lovely pics to help start the week off right!

Yesterday we got to meet up with Gerilyn & Thomas for their engagement photos in downtown San Diego! The first time we met was in Las Vegas, so it was fun to hang out with them in the city where they will be getting married this summer!

We started off walking around the Gaslamp District – one of San Diego’s most iconic areas! Then we headed over to beautiful Sunset Cliffs for some photos along the stunning California coast. Finally, we wrapped up by stopping at one of our secret locations for a view of downtown at night! So I hope you don’t mind the extra sneak peek since we went to 3 different locations! Can’t wait to share more pics of this cute and happy couple!

Yesterday was a gorgeous day to be outside, and we got to spend the afternoon with Jennifer & Kevin for their engagement photos at Balboa Park. We started at the Japanese Friendship Garden, which was full of beautiful blossoms! We also had some fun on the carousel and wrapped up their session in Old Town at the beautiful Heritage Park! We hope you enjoy a couple highlights from their session!

We had an amazing time yesterday morning hanging out with Kaitlin & Alfredo for their engagement photos at Mission Beach! We started at the beach and then went to a park nearby with beautiful trees. But my favorite part of their shoot took place at Coffee Couture, a place that is very special to them. We spent hours there, and we got to know them better over some very delicious and decorative coffee! They said it reminded them of their time in Europe, and I felt like I was just another patron at the same cafe sipping my coffee and watching two people in love. <3 San-Diego-Engagment-Photos-01

Their photos also reminded me of one of my favorite songs.

Yesterday I got to hang out with jewelry designer and entrepreneur Megan from Flawed Perfection Jewelry in the studio! I enjoyed chatting with this talented young woman, who happens to be celebrating her birthday today! Beautiful, bright, creative, and savvy! Check out her website or her Facebook page for more information about her designs (which she is modeling below)! Your purchase can also help make a donation to the Malala Fund. With big pinup curls and a flower in her hair, beautiful model and actress Jennifer Linch had all the captivating appeal of a Hollywood starlet. I enjoyed shooting with Jennifer, whose hair was styled by Dianna Prince. Check out more from her shoot on the Pillow Book Boudoir blog, including a vintage gown from Couture Prototype.

Our recent shoot with pinup model Dianna Prince was featured in the March issue of Peepshow Pinup Magazine! Pinup photography is a new genre for me, but it’s so much fun! I enjoyed working with Dianna, who is just a lovely and inspiring model. She may also be the hardest working model I have ever met! She is always shooting and working on new projects! I’m excited to shoot again with her latest this month on an amazing project!

We are excited to announce a couple new offerings to our wedding and portrait clients! First, we have two new albums available. These albums are smaller and more affordable than our wedding albums, but they are still flush mount albums with a beautiful lustre finish. They are perfect for portrait sessions including babies, families, pets, and boudoir. These albums will be offered in a 6×8 portrait size or two square sizes: 6×6 and 8×8. One of the albums has a thin black cover and the other has a leatherette cover available in a variety of colors. The 8×8 leatherette album will also replace our current parent album for wedding packages. Here’s a glimpse of the new albums:
