Back in March, I partnered up with pinup model Dianna Prince on a photoshoot inspired by one of the greatest beauties of all time – Cleopatra! The first time Dianna and I worked together, I kept saying how I saw her as Cleopatra, and she said she had been wanting to do a Cleopatra inspired shoot! So we put the plans into motion, and with the help of Make Up By G Dianna Prince channeled the beauty and strength of the Queen of the Nile! And channel it she did! For that day, she WAS Cleopatra! The shoot was so much fun, and we created some of my favorite images ever. I’ve been dying to share this shoot, but we had to keep it secret because it was accepted for a magazine cover! Well, now I am excited to share some of the first images from our shoot, as one of Dianna’s looks is featured in the June 2014 issue of Baba Lous Beauties! Not only was it featured… Dianna is also the cover model! They chose my favorite image from the whole shoot! I can’t wait to share the full shoot, but we are still waiting on the second look to be featured in another publication. But I hope you enjoy this first look at this beautiful shoot! Thanks so much to Dianna Prince for all of your work in planning this shoot and to Make Up By G for creating a flawless look!

June 26, 2014Call me biased, but I think southern California is one of the most beautiful places in the world! I love the desert and the coast and all of the mountains! Plus it’s almost July and I needed a light sweater yesterday because it was chilly! We’ve been here almost two years, and we still say “I can’t believe we live here!” I really can’t!
Coming out here, I had some photography must-shoot locations on my wish list. I’ve shot most of them, but one thing I haven’t gotten to shoot yet is the desert wildflowers. With the drought this year, shooting among the wildflowers wasn’t a possibility in the location I wanted to do them. But then I thought “I wonder if we have any lavender fields here?” A quick Google search led me to find Keys Creek Lavender Farm, located less than an hour from me! Because you can find the beach, desert, and snow within an hour or two of here, so why not a lavender farm?! I love this place!
Lucky for me, a group of shoot and share photographers decided to do a photography outing at Keys Creek, so I had the perfect opportunity to shoot there! I’m so thrilled that Wendy and Chris put this event together and brought such an amazing team of models and photographers! One of the models wore a lovely vintage lavender dress from my Etsy shop Sweet Bisou!
Now I get this wonderful location off the wish list (though I’d happily go back there again!). Keys Creek is open to the public for tours and they also do special events like English tea. It’s also a perfect place for a wedding! A huge thanks to everyone involved in this event!

Today’s blog post is extra special! It’s Kaitlin & Alfredo’s wedding at the University of San Diego! We met Kaitlin & Alfredo two years ago at Kirsten & Josh’s wedding. In case you can’t tell from the photos, Kaitlin and Kirsten are sisters! It’s always nice to see past couples at a wedding, but even more so when they are part of the same family! We were so happy to see Kaitlin’s family again, and so excited to meet Alfredo’s family! Their ceremony took place in the stunning USD Founders Chapel, and it was hard to hold back tears watching this special couple say their vows to one another. Their love for each other filled the entire chapel!
After a break in the afternoon, everyone joined the newlyweds to continue the wedding festivities at Tom Ham’s Lighthouse on Harbor Island! With a stunning panoramic view of the bay and downtown, Kaitlin & Alfredo and all of their guests enjoyed an intimate evening filled with music, dancing, great conversation and food, and amazing beverages (including delightfully decorative coffee creations from Coffee Couture). The room was decorated with lovely yellow details, many of which were made personally by Kaitlin! It was such an amazing evening, and a perfect end to a beautiful day! As you can see, everyone had a very fun time! We wish Kaitlin & Alfredo many more days filled with laughter and fond memories like this one!
We’ve been to some pretty amazing weddings, but there are few that I would call epic. Reese & Chad’s wedding at Falkner Winery in Temecula is certainly one of those rare and incredible occasions that went down in the book of epicness! Their celebration took place at a winery, which in itself is pretty rad. They said their vows against the backdrop of vines, cocktail hour took place in the barrel room and the reception featured a panoramic view of the sun setting beyond the mountains. There were plenty of tears flowing, stopped only by bursts of laughter. And the reception… well, the reception took it to a whole new level! We knew that Reese & Chad were a fun couple and we expected it to be a good time, but the evening exceeded all expectations! I think the photos say it all! Too much fun for words!
Above all, Reese & Chad are so madly and insanely in love with each other. I thought that they might just explode with excitement because they were getting married! Not only are they completely adorable, they are also two wonderful people who are just perfect for each other! If this wedding doesn’t give you the feels, I don’t know what will! :)
One of my photography wish list items was to shoot in a lavender field, and yesterday I checked that one off the list! I belong to a group of “shoot and share” photographers, and they organized a group photoshoot at Keys Creek Lavender Farm in Valley Center. It was so much fun getting out and meeting new photographers and shooting in one of the most beautiful places in southern California! It really is a hidden gem and definitely worth a visit! I’d love to go back and check out their store or attend one of their high tea events!
Here’s a little preview from the shoot:
