She laughs the same way that she loves – as hard as she can, without holding anything back. And he can’t help but laugh with her, noting how adorable she is when she crinkles her nose and squints her eyes. That’s because Ashley bubbly personality is contagious. You just can’t be around her and NOT smile!

We had such a fun time with these two lovebirds! Even early in the morning, they were full of smiles for us! We spent the morning with them at a local park getting to know more about them, including talking about their favorite team, the Atlanta Falcons! It’s great to have football compatibility. Trust me, I’ve been working on Matt for almost 7 years to get him to like my team! LOL!

We can’t wait for their wedding next spring, but for now here’s an introduction to the cuteness that is Ashley & Louis! : )

Tracy and Dennis first met through work and were initially just friends. After changing jobs, they still kept in touch, and soon realized that there was more than just friendship between them!

We started off at the former Wachovia Building in downtown Jacksonville where Tracy and Dennis first met. It was exciting to see the place where it all began, and they even ran into a few people that they used to work with while we were shooting! After hanging out in the atrium for awhile, we finally moved across the river to the new and improve Friendship Fountain, to enjoy the lights of the fountain and the Jacksonville riverfront. We even convinced them to walk up onto the Mainstreet Bridge for some shots looking back at the fountain.

Tracey and Dennis are the first to tell you how different they are, but it’s very easy to see how much they adore each other. From the way they just look at each other and smile to how they giggle and laugh, it’s easy to see that despite any differences in their personalities, these two were made for each other.

We had a great time hanging out with the two of you and we can’t wait for your wedding next year! And thanks so much to our past bride Angie for telling Tracy & Dennis about us! : )

We hope that you are enjoying your Labor Day weekend! We’re looking forward to doing a low country boil tomorrow with our friends Tom & Linda, but the highlight today was an early morning engagement session with Ashley & Louis! They were all cuddles and cuteness this morning, and there were plenty of giggles, too! Our guess is there is never a dull moment with these two! They are always doing fun and exciting things, and they even gave us the idea to go to Sea World for Matt’s birthday!

More smiles coming later this week! Can’t wait to share more of these two lovebirds!! : )

August was an AMAZING month, and what better way to close it out than with an engagement session with our gorgeous couple Tracy & Dennis in beautiful downtown Jacksonville! With temperatures *only* in the upper 80s, it hinted that summer really might be coming to an end! Pumpkin spice season can’t get here soon enough!!

Here’s a little sneak peek from tonight’s session! We can’t wait to share more photos and tell you all about where we went (and why!). : )

On a few rare occasions, we don’t get to meet some of our couples before their big day. Such was the case with Courtney and Brody, who traveled from Arkansas for a destination wedding in sunny Seaside, FL with their closest friends and family. Luckily, we arrived a day early and found some time to meet up with Courtney and Brody for a little “get-to-know-you” session. We walked around the fun and quaint little town of Seaside, with it’s central square, cute little restaurants and shops, historic post office, and a fun row of old airstream trailers that had been converted into restaurants. One in particular, Frost Bites, sold very tasty shaved ice and root beers float and its owner was so amazing in letting Courtney and Brody come inside for a fun photo!

We eventually found a quiet green nearby where Courtney and Brody’s playful side came out. They did a lot of hugging and flirting with each other. We even found the coolest little wall that perfectly matched their outfits!

We always tell couples how an engagement session really helps us get to know them and their style and we were so thankful that Courtney and Brody gave us some time amidst all their wedding planning to let us get to know them. And of course, knowing how they were as a couple in front of a camera really came in handy the next day during their gorgeous wedding. But you’ll have to come back to catch their gorgeous destination wedding photos!

We’re out here on the Emerald Coast to shoot Courtney & Brody’s gorgeous destination wedding in Seaside, FL! We met up with them yesterday for an engagement session in Seaside’s charming downtown area followed by family portraits on the beach! We’re so excited about their wedding tonight, but first a sneak peek from yesterday! : )

Engagement sessions are meant to be a reflection of the couple. Sometimes this means shooting in a place that is special to them, or having a theme that defines their personalities. With Lela & Clint’s session, it was about more than just the two of them.

When Lela asked if it would be okay to bring her kids to the engagement session and do some family photos, I was thrilled about the idea! As she said, when children are involved you are marrying more than just one person, and I couldn’t agree more! So for Lela & Clint’s session, we tried to do a combination of family photos, photos of just the kids, and some alone time for photos of the two of them. We started at Riverside Park and then moved on to Friendship Fountain for a few more photos.

The kids were not shy at all, but Lela & Clint were a little shy at first (as most couples are). But by the end we think they had a good time, and we really enjoyed seeing the newly renovated Friendship Fountain! If you haven’t gone, you have to go check it out! They did a fantastic job!

Thank you so much for letting us tell the story about what defines you as a couple and as a family! We hope that you had as much fun as we did! : )

We just got home from a sweet engagement/family session at Riverside Park and Friendship Fountain with Lela & Clint! All I can say is… FINALLY! We have been waiting for this session for a while, but our patience paid off! Even though it was a hot day, the light was beautiful. And had we been able to keep one of our previously scheduled dates, we wouldn’t have had a chance to see the beautifully remodeled Friendship Fountain! Things always happen for a reason!

Here’s a sneak peak of Lela & Clint and their adorable kids!

It was a hot day, but out at Hanna Park the ocean breeze made it feel 10 degrees cooler. We originally talked to Jennifer & Brian about doing their engagement photos in south St. Augustine, but they eventually decided on Hanna Park. It seemed like the perfect place all along. As a child, Jennifer grew up at Hanna Park, spending so much of her time there. Her dad used to work as a park ranger and he helped build the trails – the same trails that Brian loves to ride his bike through all the time now! But what really makes Hanna Park so special to them is that it’s the place where Jennifer’s parents said “I do.”

So it was fitting that a place that had such a special place in Jennifer’s heart was the setting for her engagement session with Brian. We began at the entrance of the park, where golden rays of sunlight were shining through the trees. We spent the rest of their session down on the beach – by the water, on the boardwalk, and near the dunes. The light was perfect for every part, with the sky turning from gold to orange to blue with hints of pink.

What I love about going through photos after a session is noticing all the little things that happened – the way they looked at each other, how they reacted to things, what their expressions said. And with Jennifer & Brian, you can tell that they just enjoy being together. They are always laughing, and when they look at each other it’s clear that they just adore one another. Because while we might be chatting away about the Gators and the Steelers, what they are really saying is “I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you.” Because life is a marathon, and it’s easier to go through when you have someone encouraging you along the way. ; )

Thank you Jenny & Brian for letting us capture your engagement! You are perfect together, and we had a great time hanging out with you at Singleton’s after your session! And Jenny, we wish you a very happy birthday weekend! : )
