I’ll admit, I was one of those brides who felt like I HAD to wear a veil for my wedding. Because it was the “bridal” thing to do and I actually feared that my look would be incomplete without it.

Like a lot of brides, I wore my veil for the ceremony and ditched it for the reception. But more and more brides are going sans-veil altogether, so I wanted to dedicate a post to some of our brides who were bold enough to go un-veil-ed!

Did you wear a veil for your wedding? If you could go back, would you wear it again? And if you’re still in the planning phase, will you wear a veil? Why or why not?

Great post! I went back and forth on wearing the veil as you might remember! I honestly wish I had not worn it. It looked great in some pictures but I found it to be more of a pain than anything else with it constantly blowing in my face and actually made it harder for pictures! I love the pictures you posted of women who just have a flower or something in their hair. I think I wore it because I felt like I was “supposed to.”

I will wear a mantilla veil I got at a Brides Against Breast Cancer show. I too felt like it was the “bride” thing to do. I am soo glad I actually found a dress I loved equally as much, to match it!

Very interesting! Don’t get me wrong… I think veils are gorgeous, and I will do a post at some point about different types of veils. I just wanted to share this in case anyone thought that they had to have one to complete their look. A bride can look just as stunning without one!

It’s really nice when a bride shows off that beautiful hair style she had done for her wedding day.

Although I have to admit, I’m a sucker for those birdcage veils. They’re very cool!
