Okay, Matt and I FINALLY watched Twilight because we were so curious to see what the hype was about. People are obsessed with this movie, so we were worried we might be missing out on the movie of the year or something.

We had to laugh through most of it because it was just silly. No one else realized that the Cullens family were vampires? Really? The whole story was just ridiculous to us.

Yet we couldn’t turn it off! And the next night we wanted to watch it again! I really can’t figure it out! I think it was from the frustration of the whole movie. Just turn her into a vampire so you can be together forever! The end! I do have to admit I liked it and would watch it again.

I can’t resist one more stab at Twilight, though. Edward’s intense look throughout the movie conjured thoughts of Zoolander. Come on, Edward… we all know it’s the same look! Blue Steel? Ferrari? Le Tigra? They’re the same face! Doesn’t anybody notice this? I feel like I’m taking crazy pills!

What do you all think?

hahaha! I have to watch the movie still- I’m on the 4th book and totally love them. I just don’t like who they picked to play in the movie- that’s not what MY Edward looks like. *L* Maybe this weekend….

    :)

The movie is totally cheesy made for TV but if you’ve read the books then you know why its awesome! I’m praying the second movie is better since they have a bigger budget and a new director. I still love the movie then again I’ve read the entire series twice. If you haven’t read the books you need to. Way better than the movie. Brad even read the books!

I will have to read the books. I’m just not into fiction! From what Matt has read about them, they seem more dark and intense. They must have toned it down for the film. I am interested in seeing what happens in the next one with Victoria. She made a lot of her small part and from the end of the movie I’m guessing she has a larger role in the next one.

Ok, I admit it….I have watched the movie countless times. Yes, a bit cheesy on certain points. It all clicked for me when I watched Stephanies interview (before I read a single page of the 1st book). She said while she wanted to give her view on vampires, she knew she would have to answer in some form to the vampire lovers of the world. Vampires do possess non-human abilities (like flying or moving super fast) so of course they would do that in the movie. He loves her enough not to turn or damn her. The book gets more into that. Vampires are very inviting and I think that is also why the people dont get that they are different(remember how Jessica and Angela act at the restaurant when Edward shows up with Bella). They also keep to themselves. I agree with Mel, the books are fantastic and definitely better than the movie and if you read them, the movie will make more sense. I am in book 2 and Victoria hasnt had a role in it yet other than being talked about….I just read that they will have a new director and a bigger budget too and I cant wait to see how it turns out!

Yeah, Matt and I were talking about it last night and he mentioned a new director and bigger budget. So that is exciting, and we only have to wait until the fall for it to come out! Looking forward to seeing the next one.

Oh, and we broke down and bought the book! Everyone says the books are so good, so I’m sure we will get hooked. Matt is bringing the book on his trip to Washington state this week, so I’ll have to wait until he gets back. I told him we should go ahead and get them all. I heard you can’t put them down!

The movie actually got me. I would definitely watch it again.

I had considered buying the series for Bailey before they were the craze, but thought it may have been a little over her head- anyway, she ended up borrowing the books and drove me insanely crazy talking about it ALLLLLL the time… so to see what she was totally obsessed about I read them- 2ce… LOVE the books- I thought they did an ok job with the movie. You have to remember it takes a couple of days to read a book but only 2 hrs to watch a movie… yeah, a little cheesy, but the character of Eward is well, you’ll have to read the book… but I can see why so many women are in love with the character…. fun stuff.

I have not seen it and have to be honest, don’t really want to. I did enjoy your review. Kind of solidifies my thoughts.

And yep… I used to say that I will NEVER read the book.. totally not true as of today… too sick to get out of bed.. so used it as an excuse to finally read the book… aaaahh… crazy addictive!

  9. ~Cheryl says:

Yup, the books ARE addictive. I read the first one in one night and ran out and got the other three. I’m on the last one now and trying REALLY hard to make it last!
